Ukrainian drones strike Russian oil refinery 1,500 km deep into enemy territory
On April 15, a Ukrainian drone operation targeted the Sterlitamak petrochemical plant in Russia’s Bashkortostan region, inflicting damage deep inside Russian territory, 1,500 kilometers from Ukraine's border. Military sources confirmed the strike was carried out by Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces, marking a significant escalation in long-range drone capabilities. Field reports described explosions and a fire at the facility, which is a key supplier of synthetic rubbers, aviation fuel additives
