U.S. LNG Exports Hit Record 11.7 Million Tons Amid Middle East Disruptions

U.S. liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports surged to an unprecedented 11.7 million metric tons in March 2026, as global demand soared in the wake of severe supply disruptions. Drone and missile strikes on Qatar's Ras Laffan Industrial City crippled infrastructure, slashing output from one of the world's largest LNG hubs. The U.S., with its export facilities running near full capacity, stepped in to fill the gap, with Louisiana alone accounting for 61% of the total shipments. Europe continued to do
