Egypt has rolled out a series of aggressive fuel-saving measures as its energy costs spiral amid a global crisis ignited by the US-Israel war on Iran. Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly stated that Egypt’s energy import bill more than doubled, surging from $1.2 billion in January to $2.5 billion in March. As fuel prices rise sharply, the government announced price hikes of up to 30% alongside initiatives to conserve resources. These include restrictions on operating hours for businesses and broader
